先日、米澤院長が執筆した書籍
『「圧下」のための歯科矯正用アンカースクリューテクニック』
が出版されました
「圧下」とは、歯を歯茎の中に押し込む方向に動かすことをいいます。
矯正治療では、歯を前後に動かしたり、上に引っ張り出したり様々な方向に動かしますが、
その中で「圧下」は、最も難しい移動といわれています
歯を、支えている硬い骨の中にめり込ませるように動かすため、
かつてはほぼ不可能と言われていた「圧下」ですが、
現在では、矯正用アンカースクリューという
小さいネジのようなツールを使うことによって
可能となりました。
この方法が可能となったことで、
今までは神経をとらなければいけないほど
伸びてしまっていた歯を
神経を保存したまま元の位置に戻すことができたり、
ガミースマイルとよばれる、
笑ったときに歯茎がたくさん見えてしまう状態を
改善したりすることができるようになりました
これからもさらに発展していく分野と考えられますが、
そのメリットを患者様に還元できるようしっかり学んでいきたいとおもいます
